Started in 1990 when the original members were in high school, and originally named Rainbow Butt Monkeys, Finger Eleven’s music has matured through the release of their 7 albums. After winning a prize from their local radio station in 1995, the founding members of the band, Scott and Sean Anderson, Rob Gommerman, James Black and Rick Jackett used the reward to record Letters from Chutney, the band’s first album.

As their popularity in Canada grew, they developed a heavier, more serious tone to their music. Before they released their second album in 1998, Tip, they changed their name to Finger Eleven to reflect their new style of music. Just after the album dropped, their drummer Gommerman left and was replaced with Rich Beddoe.

Their fourth album was self-titled and was their first album to go gold, thanks to the Top 40 song “One Thing”. They toured the US, Canada, and Australia for several years, and their songs were featured on TV shows such as Smallville and Scrubs.

After their success, they began working on Them vs. You vs. Me, and produced the single “Paralyzer”, which brought the band mainstream in the US. “Paralyzer” was their first Top Ten song, and was number 1 on the Canadian and US rock charts. After the success of their fifth album, they released a 2-disc set titled Us-vs-Then-vs-Now, with behind-the-scenes and backstage video footage spanning their careers, as well as their newest album.

Life Turns Electric, their sixth album, included the singles “Whatever Doesn’t Kill Me” and “Living in a Dream”. After teasing their newest album, Five Crooked Lines, on the band’s Twitter in 2013, they once again parted with their drummer and replaced him with Chris Powell. They recorded Five Crooked Lines in the winter of 2014, then released it summer of 2015 after touring with Three Days Grace.

Finger Eleven pride themselves on their evolving and dynamic music, and always try to push the envelope on their sound. They make their music as bold and as big as possible, and their fans enjoy their unique sound and changing style.
