What is Wildflower!?

The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival is a three day award-winning celebration of eclectic arts & music that enhances the cultural experiences in the North Texas region. It draws thousands of people annually and is held the third weekend in May.

For over 32 years attendees have enjoyed a variety of musical acts on multiple stages such as the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Stage, Texans Credit Union Stage, Cityline Stage; kid’s activities in the WF! Kids area, artistic performances on Patterson & Associates Performance Row, regional cuisine in the Ovation at Galatyn Park Food Court, and shopping with local artisans in the Prosperity Bank Marketplace. Additionally, the festival offers many programs that recognize and support talented musicians and artists such as Battle of the Bands, Budding Talent Vocal Competition, Student Art Contest, and the award-winning Al Johnson Performing Songwriter Contest. Not to mention The Zoo Art Guitar Auction, featuring acoustic or electric guitars transformed by artists into a creative piece of work, available for purchase. The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival is produced by the City of Richardson Parks and Recreation Department. Past performers include the Fitz and the Tantrums, Judah & the Lion, Grand Funk Railroad, The Guess Who, Neon Trees, Quiet Riot, The Jacksons, and many more. Get ready to get wild!

Tickets are available to purchase in person at the festival starting May 17 at 5:00 pm at the Cupcake Box Office/Will Call (Gateway D).

Need to pick up your tickets at Will Call?
Will Call tickets can also be picked up starting May 17 at 5:00 pm , at the Cupcake VIneyards Box Office/Will Call (Gateway D). A valid I.D. is required to retrieve tickets.

How do I get to the festival & where do I park?

Where do I park?
Parking is FREE! Over 8,000 spaces are available within the immediate area surrounding Galatyn Park. Motorcycle parking is available in the Bank of America parking lot near the entrance to Gateway D. Any vehicle not parked in a designated parking spot, is subject to tow. No overnight parking is allowed, including recreational vehicles.

Take the DART to Wildflower!
Ride the DART Red Line rail system straight to Wildflower!. The Galatyn Park Station is located adjacent to the West side of the Festival grounds. Click here to review the schedule.

Ride Share Locations
The official ride share pick up location for Wildflower! is located at the Southeast corner of Galatyn Parkway and Performance Drive (near Ovation at Galatyn Park Gateway).

Can I ride by bicycle to the festival?

Wildflower! welcomes you to ride your bike to the festival and has provided a designated bike parking area outside of the festival at Gateway D, as bicycles are not permitted within the festival grounds. Bike racks will be provided for you and we encourage you to bring your lock as the festival will not provide one. Wildflower! is not responsible for lost or stolen bicycles.

What ADA and Accessibility accommodations are available at Wildflower?

Accommodation requests should be made at least 14 days in advance of the festival by contacting the ADA Coordinator at 972-744-0908 or ADACoordinator@cor.gov. For individuals needing to schedule assistance with DART Paratransit, please contact DART directly at 214-515-7272.

Accessible Parking is located on the east side of the festival site (off of Glenville Drive, adjacent to the Gateway).

Can I exit and re-enter the festival?

Ticket holders are allowed to exit and re-enter the festival each day by obtaining a hand stamp at the Gateway. Re-entry is only valid for day of ticket purchase and designated hand stamp is required. Persons and belongings entering the site may be subject to search for any prohibited items.

Can I bring a chair with me?

 

Attendees are allowed to bring a portable chair into the festival site, however, they are prohibited in the seating zone closest to the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Stage on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival for increased patron safety.

Chairs will still be allowed outside of the designated zone, and will be permitted throughout the entire site on Sunday (including within this zone).

What items are allowed & prohibited?

The following is a list of items allowed into the festival:

  • Small purse or backpack (subject to search upon entrance into the festival)
  • 1 factory-sealed water bottle (1 per person)
  • Portable chairs/blankets in designated areas only. Portable chairs/blankets will be prohibited in the seating zone closest to the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Stage on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival for increased patron safety.
  • Strollers
  • Baby food or food for attendees with special dietary needs
  • Service animals. (Emotional support or companion animals are not allowed)
  • Wheelchairs and/or medical scooters
  • Binoculars

The following is a list of items NOT allowed or prohibited into the festival:

  • Audio or video recording devices
  • Coolers or picnic baskets
  • Outside food, drink, and alcohol (not permitted to leave or enter festival grounds)
  • Portable chairs/blankets will be prohibited in the seating zone closest to the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Stage on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival for increased patron safety.
  • Emotional support or companion animals and or personal pets (except service animals)
  • Contraband, explosives, or other hazardous items
  • Skateboards, skates, rollerblades, scooters, hoverboards, segways or any personal motorized vehicle
  • Bicycles
  • Laser pens, pointers, or similar product
  • Frisbees
  • Umbrellas
  • No smoking except in designated areas (per City Ordinance No. 3710)
  • Professional, still or video cameras, including cameras with detachable lenses (authorization required)
  • Unauthorized vendors including unauthorized solicitors and materials including handbills, stickers, beach balls, give-aways, samples, etc.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Uniformed security guards and City of Richardson police personnel are stationed at each of the festival’s Gateway entrances as well as throughout the festival site. Additionally, Emergency Personnel is provided by the City of Richardson Fire Department and is on-site to assist as needed. In the case of an emergency, please notify a police officer, security, or staff member right away.

Texans Credit Union Kids Safety Tag Program
Available at the festival gateways, the Texans Credit Union Kids Safety Tag Program encourages parents to write down their phone number on a provided wristband and place it on their child to wear throughout the day. The wristbands allow staff the ability to reunite a child separated from their parents in a fast and reliable way. Wristbands are available to pick up at each festival gateway. We also recommend taking a photo of your child on your phone on the day of the festival to ensure that an accurate description can be provided if you get separated.

Blue Cross Blue Shield First Aid Tent
Located across from the Eisemann Center on the performance court, the BlueCross BlueShield First Aid Tent is staffed with City of Richardson emergency personnel to assist festival attendees with any medical needs or emergencies. 

Where is lost & found?

During the Festival lost and found items can be located at the Wildflower! information tent. After the festival, contact Wildflower! at (972) 744-4580. Lost items are held for 30 days and then donated to a local charity. Wildflower! is not responsible for any lost items.

What is your festival disclaimer?

All performances and events at the Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival (“Festival”) are rain or shine and are subject to change or cancellation by the City of Richardson without notice. No refunds or exchanges except for cancellation of the Festival. The City of Richardson is not responsible for the condition of any private property, buildings or grounds within or adjacent to the Festival site. The user of this ticket assumes all risks and danger associated with the Festival, whether occurring prior to, during or after the Festival, including, without limitation, personal injury (including death) and property damage, caused by the acts or omissions of others (including Festival invitees, public attendees, performers and participants), and agrees to hold the City of Richardson, its officers, employees, agents, sponsors harmless from any such injuries or damages. The City of Richardson reserves the right to remove anyone from the Festival who violates any law, or Festival rule or regulation. Use of the Festival site for any promotional or commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the City of Richardson is strictly prohibited. The user grants the City of Richardson the right to use his or her name and likeness obtained in connection with the use of this ticket for any publicity or advertising purposes. Tickets obtained from sources other than the City of Richardson and its authorized agents shall not be honored. Lost, stolen or damaged tickets shall not be replaced. The resale of any ticket is strictly prohibited.  Smoking is prohibited except in designated areas. Snacks and drinks for toddlers are allowed. Each ticket holder can bring in one factory sealed water bottle up to 1 liter. Audio or video recording devices are prohibited within the Festival. Persons and belongings entering the Festival site may be subject to inspection for any prohibited items. Thank you for your cooperation.
